Frequently Asked Questions:

What Is CBD?

CBD is the non psychoactive cannabinoid, the other well known cannabinoid is THC which is psychoactive and is found in high amounts in marijuana.

CBD chemically is a molecule named cannabidiol, which is extracted from the hemp plant cannabis sativa. A cannabis sativa strain is considered hemp instead of marijuana if it contains less than 0.3% THC making it legally non psychoactive.

How Does CBD Work?

The proposed mechanism of action for CBD is that it interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is involved in regulating many systems in the body, from regulating the brain chemicals associated with anxiety, regulating inflammation, regulating your GI tract/nausea regulating pain and regulating circadian rhythm (your sleep cycle). There has been little research on if CBD has clinical effects on these aspects of the endocannabinoid system so legally we can make no claims.

How Should I Dose?

Finding the dose that works for you for the issue you are attempting to address with CBD usage is essential. Taking too much can be a bit overwhelming or make you sleepy during the day and too little you wont feel anything!

People have had success with starting with 15mg during the day such as in the morning then another 15mg or 25mg at night. Once you have taken it every day for a week or so, you will know if you need to go up or if you’re already at a good place!

One thing to consider is that if you are a smaller person or a sensitive person make sure to start with 15mg not 25mg or 50mg. Also if you are a user of medicinal cannabis you will have an increased tolerance to other cannabinoids such as CBD, so make sure to start with the 25mg.

Will CBD Show Up In A Drug Test?

CBD is non psychoactive because it has less than 0.3% of THC; that being said there are trace amounts of THC, that though under the legal limit could trigger a drug test to be positive. Between 1-2 weeks should be enough time to ensure a passing test. Whole Plant Medicine cannot guarantee anything concerning drug tests.

Will CBD Oil Get Me High?

CBD oil will not get you high. The US Federal government has agreed that anything with less than 0.3% THC is considered non psychoactive…meaning, no high!
